Nathan's Doctor Appointment
He did very well! He was so good during the echo so they got some good pictures of his heart.
He has a leaking aortic valve. It is moderate right now so the doctor said that we do not have to do anything about it at this point....just something to keep our eyes on.
His heart is having trouble relaxing. The doctor is not too concerned at this point because he has always had this problem. Just again....more keeping our eyes on it.
This is cool I think - his body has grown extra vessels to his lungs to compensate. This is helping his oxygen levels to stay at 85%. Seems this is the way the body helps him. Pretty cool.
But the big news is the doctor is letting us take him off his beta blocker. This is the medication I have to give him 3 times a day.....once in the middle of the night. And the one that may be causing him nightmares. The doctor said if he does ok off the medication then we can stop it completely. Right now we are going to wean him off slowly and then see how he is doing heart and sleep wise in about a month. I am hoping he does well off this medicine, but whatever helps his heart Jason and I are willing to do.
So all in all it was a good visit. :-)
Thank you all for your prayers!
